For that, you can use a regular Sunbeam Rheobus and run the 230mms straight to Molex. That's what I do and noise is extremely tolerable (though my non-stock fan setup is different). Added, by the way.

Oh my freaking... I can't believe I didn't think of that in my year+ of ownership, quite embarrassing. +1, this opens new doors for other water coolers.

Now that I think about it, I may just get one to control the 4 120mm fans - and let the 230mm do there jobs.

Is there any really flashy/touch screen one that you would recommend, what do you think of the Sentry LX/Aerocool 2000?

I've used both of those. The Sentry LX is excellent, very sexy and functional (but pricey). The Aerocool is not a quality product - looks cool but brakes VERY easily.

I honestly never recommend one; the basis for this being that if you DO find one with more than an amp of output on each channel, it's not very high quality. Most of them focus all the engineering on the interface and not the mechanics behind it, and I don't like that at all.

So I either say go for an analog- or software-based controller (like the Rheobus/FC5 or powerboosted Aquaero/bigNG respectively) or go home.

Lol. I don't really know how I came up with it but it just clicked randomly one day when I was originally going to mount it on the outside of the case. I thought about mounting it above the 230mm fan holes and then I realized that I could as easily put it on the inside and have a little hanging out.

Obviously this wouldn't work with 38mm fans, and I have about a few millimeters to spare.

I have a 4x120 radiator IN my ATCS 840. Just deciding which fans to order as I have low speed, low CFMs on it now. Will post pics when I get a chance as I'm about to mod the hell out of it. At the moment the rad is directly below the I.O. panel and power/reset buttons but it's easy to remove those so you can have the fans pulling or pushing/pulling rather than just pushing; the rad fits in the case even with the I.O. panel but obviously the airflow through the rad is blocked by it. Of course you could do what SimpleTech did but it's a bit noisy that way.

Temps are really low in spite of ambient around 30 Celsius. Idling at 38C-42C with a Core i5 @1.376V. This case really works well.

That's pretty awesome you can fit a 4x120 RAD in there. Very sweet.

That IS really cool, but totally kills the look in my opinion.

Ahh well, in the name of performance some sacrifices must be made
post #860 of 4392
Has anyone made a mod for a side-panel fan yet? If so could you post a link to it? I'm thinking of doing that myself, as my PC is facing a wall on the left so you wouldn't see it anyway.
