This is a guide on how to play L4D with out rage quitting.
1. STAY together (play as a team)...if you try to run ahead(or fall behind) you will die and your team will die.
2. If someone is behind, go back and help them...everyone!
3. If one or more of your party members gets puked on, Group close and smack 2 to the front 2 to the back.
4. If you go down a hole, make sure everyone goes down at the same time.
5. Smack hunters/smokers off of people! If you shoot them you might shoot your teammate as well.(after killing the infected) plus smacking them off will get them off faster then shooting. (if your close enough.)
6. Smack away the horde it saves your health!
7. Corners are great places to group up and smack when a horde comes. Make sure everyone is pushing back so you don't get pushed out of the corner. If everyone stays put and smacks them back you will take far less damage then if your spread out shooting.
8. head shots kill in one shot, body shots take 3-5 shots.
9. leave and enter rooms together.
10. watch the roof tops when outside.
11. know your sounds, everything makes a different sound when it spawns.
12. kill a tank my setting him on fire with a molotov and just run away...if you have enough health the tank will not catch you and will die in about 45 secs.
13. Everyone has to have a buddy! Never walk alone and always watch your buddy's back!
14. If you see someone has a couple of zombies on them run over and smack them off! Don't expect that they can "handle it"
15. Let people know if you are throwing a pipe or a molotov, that way you don't burn anyone and only one person will throw one...so many times I have seen 2 people throw pipe bombs and the 2nd one gets wasted.
16. close all doors behind you!
17. If you see one of your people severely hurt... you can heal them with your medpack instead of waiting till it is too late and the whole group dies.
18. If you bump into a boomer don't shoot it! Bash it away and then shoot it so you don't get bile on you or your team mates! Don't bash it more than 3 times or it will explode though.
19. Help out your teammates by giving them pills when they are lower on health but not low enough to waste a med kit
20. You can crouch while being DOWN to have better accuracy, If you are downed while crouching. (read carefully)
21. Turn your light off and crouch, the infected cant see you through walls.
22. Tanks don't receive extra damage for being shot in the head, so don't bother aiming for it.
23. Glance behind you every once in a while, DON'T ABANDON TEAMMATES! You can't get good points with 3 and your chances of making it to the end are slim to none.
Tips for the infected!
1. Tanks can smack cars causing much more damage then a smack or a rock.
2. As a Hunter: When you pounce a survivor, the longer distance you travel from your leap to the actually pouncing of the survivor you get bonus damage for distance, up to 25. So its a good idea to pounce survivors from the tops of buildings, long distances, etc.
3. A hunters claw does 10 damage so anytime you can get a claw in its better then a pounce. (need checked for accuracy after patch)
4. The longer your jump as a hunter the more damage you will do.
5. Smoker from behind...it slows them down!
6. Let them come to you as a boomer, try to set yourself up so you don't get popped after the first puke!
7. Hang out by the witch she is a good friend to have
The boomer exploding will set her off.
8. Hunters seem to do best when they assist the boomer or the smoker...be patient never attack alone!
9. Don't pounce a survivor that has already been smoked. Also after a boom, it is best to pounce the survivors that didn't get infected. The ones that did will not be able to see that one of their buddy's is being eaten.
10. If you're a boomer, go stand in front of the witch. If they shoot you, she wakes up. Also, if you're standing in front of her, chances are they can't see her.
11. As a boomer if you can puke on a downed survivor it will call the horde and the survivor will die very fast if not covered by teammates.
12. Smoker/hunter combo. Grab the group lager with a smoker, and then when someone comes to rescue him, hit them with a hunter. By that time the other two are way ahead and you can do some serious damage until they get back.
13. As a Smoker... if you see the group get blinded by a Boomer, try to snag one of the Survivors who didn't get puked on... (usually they will still be green, yellow, red, etc...) and pull them out of the mix.
14. Hunters need to support the Smoker by pouncing on anyone coming back to save the guy stuck on the tongue.
15. When the Tank arrives... Hunters need to hold back and wait for the tank to disperse the Survivors, then the hunters need to swarm in and pounce the Survivors that get separated. Smokers also need to be watching to snag anyone who gets drawn in focusing on the tank.
16. As the tank... keep hitting the survivors until they fall down and then move on to the next survivor. Don't focus on one guy trying to kill him once he/she is down. Let the Hunters mop up the downed survivors.
17. As a tank, stay away from the survivors if they have fire...try to chuck rocks from a distance and stay out of direct fire from weapons.
Hopefully this will tone down the rage quit...lol
More to come..I'm sure lots of you can add to this list. Just tell me what to add and I will add it!

One thing i suggest is changing your crosshair color if you'd like to w/e color your want by editing these 3 commands
Enhanced red crosshair: (sv_cheats 0)
cl_crosshair_alpha "100" (default 255) - brightness
cl_crosshair_red "255" (default 138)
cl_crosshair_green "0" (default 182)
cl_crosshair_blue "0" (default 220)
Another is adjusting your crosshair thickness if you'd like but definitely removing dynamic crosshair helps with accuracy and consistency in your aim(also removing enhance pointer precision in your mouse options
)
cl_crosshair_thickness "1" (default 2)
cl_crosshair_dynamic "1"
As survivor stick together always try to have one person leading the group if not everyone takes their own way or split up and end up taking damage or losing the round and trust your teammates! *DON'T BE A HERO*
As infected try to plan out attacks, it isn't necessary all the time and you can just play it out and do well but it's very useful to coordinate attacks together.
Boomer = enabler (Blind people for a few seconds attract a large horde if the survivors are packed in jump in there get some scratches more than likely one of them will shoot you and you'll boom atleast 2 to bring a horde)
Hunter = opener(pounce on someone knocking the group back while boomer comes in and spews)
Smoker = distraction and splitter (Pull someone stray another from the group while your other team mates attack the others and boomer hits the snagged)
Tank = Try not to think your hulk and go crazy and just run blindly at the survivors pace yourself if they have a molly make them waste it stay back throw rocks let your team boom/smoke/pounce to help you get close go around corners pull them into you and hit them around a corner knocking them back then retreat and let them keep doing it meanwhile your team just keeps re-spawning.
A great example of how to coordinate something is on no mercy on the hospital level have a boomer inside the closet slash him till hes low and have a hunter in there also and a smoker behind the sandbags by the yellow tape when the survivors get close and are by the edge have a hunter pounce and more than likely you will knock one off the edge rendering them incapacitated meanwhile the boomer runs up also and gets some slashes while they shoot the hunter off they will probably hit the boomer if not pop him yourself with a slash while the smoker pulls one from across to the edge incapacitating them.
