If you wanna go nuts, spend an extra 10 than what I just listed and go for the Gigabyte ud3r
Really nice overclocking ability, very solid board, 2oz copper. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128358

You showed me the UD3P. I was looking at the UD3R for 105 AR
Is the q6600 still worth buying now a days. Im not going to get my bro a new computer for another 3+ yrs or so. And I dont see him gaming heavily besides playing CS 1.6.

So far I got a sapphire 4830 ocz sli 2x2 ram. It was a combo for 97.98 after MR. antec 300 for $40. and a 1tb for 81.98 after MR. So my total is now 219.96. I still need a cf mobo, a processor, and a psu. Im thinking about the UD3R for 105, a corsair 620hx, and a q6600. For a total of 597.24

Hm. If he's only going to be playing oldish games, there's really no point in four cores. In fact you'll get better framerates on two because the older games aren't scripted for four. Check out the E8400 as a great alternative (it even gets better framerates on most new games than the 6600) for less!

Sidenote: I sent you the UD3P because I thought you wanted crossfireability!

Oh yeah somehow i thought the UD3R was cf also. Umm well he states that he needs 4 cores to run some programs. I dont ever see him using 4 cores to the max but i guess its for future proofing.
He did mention he played COD5.
