Core i7 Build, Looking for Suggestions

Power Supply: Thermaltake W0133RU Tough Power 1200W Modular

Processor: Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz Quad-Core

Motherboard: EVGA x58 LGA1366 ATX SLI

Memory: Corsair Dominator 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 1600 Triple Channel

Sound Card: AuzenTech X-Fi Prelude 7.1

Hard Drive: Western Digital VelociRaptor 300GB 3.5†SATA 3.0Gb/s
Hard Drive: Western Digital VelociRaptor 300GB 3.5†SATA 3.0Gb/s

Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 280 1GB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16

That is the current build I am looking at, I was looking at getting a 965 EE instead of the 920, but for the cost difference I decided to get a dual loop water cooling set up.

Does anyone think I would be better off with the 965 on air? From what I have read the 920 will overclock just as well as the 965 EE, So I figured on water the 920 should overclock very well. My goal is to get to at least 4.0GHz - 4.5GHz stable 24/7.

Looks like a pretty solid build. I'd stick with the 920 with the water cooling if you're doing some good overclocking. Only suggestion I might make is to be patient for gtx285 price drops. Even with that decent PSU, it wouldn't hurt to go lower on the electric bill.

I would seriously consider waiting, but I have a dead laptop next to me, and the laptop I'm on now won't charge so I am having to use my dads laptop to charge batteries and swap them as they die.

(I can't use his laptop as its for work)

Glad to hear that, I had a bit of trouble deciding between a few different PSU's but read some good reviews on the ToughPower.

Yup double on the good choice since my 750w toughpower is keeping me happy. It probably won't be able to do GTX285 SLI but my 8800gt SLI is still going strong. I'll only upgrade if I see double the performance on a single card solution.

Yea, I'm upgrading from a 4.5 year old laptop that doesn't run and a 3 year old dell laptop that I have to change the batteries every 1.5-2 hours to run.

(I'm hoping I can get double the performance /sarcasm)

Why even bother with two separate loops? Get a nice pump like a D5, and a big radiator (or two). Two isolated loops is just a mess for your case.

You could spend the money you save on a beautiful full-coverage block =)

The water cooling set up I had in mind can be found here.

As for one loop, I realize it would be easier to maintain, but I still feel that those two loops would out perform a single loop, I could be wrong.
