Dell said it has "engaged in good faith efforts" to identify employees who were involved in negotiations and decisions about X86 procurements, and has provided a list of custodians and will instruct them to keep such documents.

The firm also said it will preserve the June 27 2005 backup tapes, as well as information from hard drives on desktops, notebooks or shared servers.

Dell will also make a copy of the microprocessor procurement databases for the purposes of the court case.

Electronic records of two former Dell employees, Dan Anderson and Alan Luecke can't be preserved, the firm said.

Custodians named include founder Michael Dell, and current CEO Kevin Rollins, the filing said.

I have to agree. AMD is not doing the right thing. Its like having ATI sue nVidia because nVidia wont let BFG produce ATI cards. Its dumb and pointless. 2nd party business deals happen all the time and if AMD doesnt like it, then too bad. They need to find some other way to compete. I dont buy from companies that sue the crap out of their competors.

To a point, but if you opened up a Soda company and found out that EVERY single pop machine had an agreement that your brand could NEVER be on the front of the machine because Coke and Pepsi made them sign something..... would you feel it was unfair? Most grocery stores have also had to sign an agreement that the "front space" will not contain specials for say RC Cola. Different industry, but you can see the similarities. Dominance kills competition and no competition hurts the consumer. Lord knows how bad cable would be if there was ONLY Comcast.

Yessir, I agree! Rep for j00!

Although it may be a bit extreme, it is business. And I hve nothing against Intel, but they do seem to have most OEM manufacturers on a monopoly.

And saying you wont buy AMD because of business ethics is kind ignorant. I mean, it's not like their peeing on Ethiopians or something. They make awesome chips!

I love how all the intel owners say "AMD is lame, why are they suing" and all the AMD users say "AMD is right on!"

Right on, AMD.

Thier both rich companies, money isnt an issue, who really cares whos on top? Who really cares who sells more processors? As long as theres availability for whoever wants one, I dont really care about any of this stuff.

Because AMD is nowhere near as rich as intel. The size difference is huge, AMD is a very small company next to intel.
