Dell sells more computers (intel chips) than AMD does in a year. Thats just Dell, when I go look in the flyers or go down to staples I look at the computers specs. I see about 4-5 amd machines out of 30 and all the chips are lower end now adays like semprons and stuff. But when I look at the other computers, I see Dual-cores all over the place. There is obviosly something wrong there. Most consumers today will go buy a computer and look at the ghz. Intel has a higher rate so they typically will buy the intel. The buyers need to be informed then AMD would have better business at the stores.

AMD wants to be as big as Intel...but they can't be. AMD just isn't able to produce enough chips, and they don't have the money to expand, because they don't have contracts with big prebuilt companies.
I guess AMD failed to see that companies are your biggest consumers, they never really concentrated on office machines and high end servers.

i like intel and amd, i have amd in my gaming rig and intel in my Video editing rig, but its really dumb when a small company has to sue a bigger company just to gain a little bit from it.

Well, if you look at it this way, AMD has most of alienware pc's taken over lol, and I think theres some gateways out now with AMD chips in them...so they arent doing THAT bad...thats one of the reasons their new cores are so high, because maybe theyre TRYING to expand and thats the way they NEED to do it, charge higher for new while keeping revenue from lowering the others...

AMD have the right not to be ripped off. That's it. Intel are just asshats for not giving AMD a fair opotunity to start with.

Intel are the greedy barstards, not AMD for actually speeking out against an unfair-monopoly.

Although, AMD don't need to bother, since Intel's ships are the second of choice of almost all of the "self building" community for a reason. Just even computer maker is signed up and bullied to stay with Intel.

Who cares though, really, AMD will sue and win, and I don't know what they'll get outta it, hopefully the market will unlock itself, and the key torn from Intels hand.

Good on AMD, the little guy standing up to the bully. Or, just plain asshat in this case.

Have you even read anything? Dell was threatened by Intel with "Concoqenses" when Dell were going to use AMD chips for a line of systems. AMD were then rejected thier chips, and Dell went with Intel

AMD wants to be part of the computer building martket, and intel are holding an unfair monopoly over it (By threatening). Read the inital "law suit" in "offtopic" somewhere, you'll be amazed what asshats Intel really are Not that you'll care, because the first system you got was an Intel, and then the second, and third if you're that lucky (or old enough, actually).

*sigh*, you remind me of I kid I went to school with, and he was my best mate, always blabbering on about how awesome intel where. When he had no idea of specs, the way AMD can be just as good as an Intel even though they have low Mhz, and just "general knowlage" of the two chip manufactures. All because he owned an intel since he was old enough to use one

Really, Intel are the asshats here, and I know you dont wanna wake up and see it, but god damnit, stop being blind when the clear truth is written down all over the web.

I bet when AMD wins the law suit you'll blame the judges for being bias, and hating intel for no real reason. Hell, whatever you come up with, it'll be a good read, I'm sure.

(This isn't laid at whoever posted above exactly, just the whole intel fanboys who defend intel with thier life)

Ahh, now I gotta go ring my girlfriend and talk to her about stupid stuff, like why I'm not seeing her tomorrow, and why I'm an asshat for not seeing her. Wish me luck

For whoever posted about AMD not having the money to produce chips or whatever, thats wrong. AMD has the capabilities, but not the demand. Fundamentals of business my friend; supply and demand. There is not the demand because Intel has monopolized most of the manufacturors. How many computers do you see have AMD chips in them? Not many. HP, and Gateway are the only 2 that come to my mind quickly when I think of AMD in pre-builts. And it is obvious by the ad's that Dell just owns the market for pre-builts, and god forbid Intel not try to monopolize the CPU market like Microsoft has done with OS's.

eMachines and Alienware both have them. On the eMachines, it's only a few models compared to the models of Intels they have.

I totally agree that something should be done. Especially if Intel is flexing it's muscles to intimidate companies to use their processors.
