OCZ Ram Voltage

So I'm running these ocz ddr2 1066 memory and the voltage listed on the website is 2.1v - 2.2v, but my motherboard runs it auto at 1.9v and it seems stable. Should I up the voltage to 2.1 or keep it at 1.9v?

This isn't really an expert reply, but I do know that many motherboards won't set the ram to the settings users expect, but instead will use some generic settings. Mine used 5-5-5-18, 800MHz, 1.8v, but my ram's specs mention 4-4-4-12 and 2.0-2.1v.

So, if this were my system, then I know that I would increase the voltage to 2.1v, and I'd also use whatever the best timings the specs list and then go from there.

Also, even if the system seems stable, it's best to do tests to be sure. I recommend running Vista's built-in memory diagnostic for as long as possible to make sure it's definitely stable. After that, you can also use something like Orthos to test it.

I'm actually running 5-5-5-15 timings (instead of manufacturer 5-5-5-18) at the 1.9v. I haven't actually ran any sort of ram stress test, but it has been stable playing games and running prime95 blend for a few hours. I'll run memtest later or vista built in thing.

The lowest voltage that is stable at the desired settings is what you want. You up the voltage to allow stability. If you are stable why increase? DDR2 if made to conform to JEDEC standards must be able to handle 2.3v without damage (does not mean will function) so hope that gives an idea of safety zone if you choose to tweak.

Asus Mobile said something I forgot to say, and he's right: it's wise to find the lowest possible voltage necessary for 100% stability. But if you want to overclock your memory, then course you will need more voltage for sure.
