Sector 7G build log - Page 8

Okay, so I'm finishing the side panels this afternoon... will get pics of the cablemanagement.

I should have the back panel on first as I'm contemplating a window panel mod in the near future as well...

I have a CM 4 in 3 device bay coming in as well as I'm a bit too lazy to build a fan mount for the front of the case. One more thing to paint to match though.

Also just ordered the HTOmega Striker sound card. It should be here mid week. Next up, new display. This old Dell 1905 isn't quite hitting on much. 25ms refresh rate for the win.. or not.

Yay!

Look at samsung for a display, they have good quality and prices are reasonable.

If you don't mind paying a little bit extra, LG make wonderful LCD monitors...
Also, yay for near-completion!

I'll have to take a look at it. I've been eyeing 24" monitors and like the samsungs.

Little update:

the 4-in-3 and HT Omega Striker came in yesterday... and the modding begins tonight. Also, there should be a 150gb raptor, and a 1tb caviar black coming in early next week.

I'm going to pull everything from the case this weekend and work out a few mods on the case. So far, I'm planning on stealthing the fan controller to where the knobs are the only thing visible. Hopefully the DVDROM drive will be the same concept.

Also planning on moving my hard drives around for optimal airflow... and rerouting the power to my gtx285.

Afterwards, it's time for a fresh vista install... new drivers.. and back to it.

I'm going to make a few cuts on the motherboard to feed my cables a bit easier and make it easier to hide them.

My fans should be here soon as well. I'll replace the low-speed yates for mediums... and swap out 120mm's for 140mm's where applicable.

Sounds excellent! Can't wait to see this - although it sounds like you've got a fair bit of work to get through - when do you think it'll be completed?
Good luck,

alright.. update for my birthday (for another 2 minutes):

Top two fan grilles have been removed, bottom fan grille has been removed. Notch cut in the motherboard tray to allow for an easier closing panel. All cuts have been de-burred. Tomorrow appears to be a snow day for me, so it will be priming/painting the 4 in 3 device bay.

the 150gb raptor, 1TB caviar black, medium speed yates, HD-201 headset, and zalman ZM-mic will be in tomorrow. The soundcard is a looker too...

I'll try to snap pics tomorrow as I go along. It'll be time for a fresh vista install, and then benchmarking. Everything was a breeze to get out of the case... I'm looking forward to the reinstall.

It's been days since I've been in L4D... and I'm not hearing the witch in my sleep anymore.

..I kinda miss it.
