watercooling an arctic freezer?:P

okay. dont kill me for this, but, im really bored and im actually going to try this either way.
*yes i know heat pipes have their own great working method of evaporation and cooling, so please no comments like "yea heatpipes already have something in them"

this is all out of curiosity. concept is simple. a pump, will push water through the heatpipes (the ends of which i cut). water will go down passed the cpu and come out the other end back into the pump.

the rad...is the arctic cooler. heatsink it all travels through.
now the only thing thats stumping me, is that theres no resistance in the cpu area, so water doesnt have time to hang around and pick up heat, but im trying it anyways lol.

what do you think?

Interesting idea although I have no input on whether it will work or not.

I would also be worried about the pressure of the water. I mean, those pumps are very powerful and all that pressure going in to those small heatpipes.. well you get the idea

A very slow flow of water would let it hang around to pick up heat, I once thought about using an 'under gravel filter' type riser pipe to lift water slowly lol

One thing though, Heat pipe are full of ****e to be give capillary action to the gunk inside.

ROFL! I think it would work, but like you said the flow would be limited due to the pipes not being completly hollow. DO EETTTT!!!!

HAHA if this works EPIC. go for it. you have 100% of my support. use alot of tubing and if you can make it so there is a small tube that take water from the output to the input to keep pressure at a minimum.

I wonder what they use in the pipes, course sand ? wire wool ? ally mesh ?

Either way you'd have to poke/dig the stuff out.
