Youtube HD is Choppy in Firefox. halp.

Thread Starter
I playback the same video in IE7 and Firefox (latest version) and it is choppy in firefox while it plays flawlessly in IE.

I don't want to have to resort to using IE just to watch my hd videos so if anyone knows what's up, POST!
+rep to the one that solves the problem.

BTW I have the latest version of flash on both browsers.

Now, when you say choppy, do you mean it loads > plays a little > stops > loads...etc? Or do you mean the video, when buffered fully, plays choppy?

Probably loads plays a little then stops. I get the same thing.

I am having the same issue. In Firefox, the video is fuzzy and/or pixelated.

But he said it plays fine in IE, which kind of bugs me. It rules out the possibility of slow interwebz (by the way OP, what kind of connection do you have?).

Same for me, but it usually is fixed after 5 seconds.
Blackbox.

Well I just tried playing a video in HD in FF, and it works fine. The only thing I can think is maybe IE can buffer quicker for some reason, and FF is having a hard time doing so. I believe the problem lies with the fact that you're not buffering.

I get that too when I switch from standard to HD. What happens is only the video box reloads and apparently most browsers have trouble with either the Javascript or the flash involved. Chopiness is fixed when I drag the slider bar all the way to the start, it kinds of resets the video and it plays smooth.

nono. It is not that it loads slowly,

I have an 8mb/s connection so speed is not an issue.

Just like some else stated, it is as if it has a low FPS.
I let it load 100% in both browsers to try and tell the difference, IE7 played it like a normal video ~ 30fps but in firefox, it stutters (again, not loading problems).

On one of the videos I said to the poster to update his HD camera and I got flamed bad that "oh u's a d-bag, update your pee-cee's"

I'm like, Hey, I probably have a pc 10x more powerful than yours so please be quiet.

btw, the videos I have trouble in particular are the 3dgameman video reviews lol.

HOTFORWORDS plays flawlessly.
