Speedfan Reports Temp3 @ -128ºC

Thread Starter
Well I use speedfan to monitor my system. All the temperatures for the GPU, hard drives, and CPU are accurate and make sense.

But it reports Temp3 at -128C.

Why is this happening, and what is Temps1,2,3?

I'm guessing one is the system temp but what is the others?

Currently temp 1 is 19C, Temp2 33C, Temp3, still -128C.

Go into the BIOS... how many temps are there? It might be reporting a non-existent sensor.
Once again...

Easy solution, use coretemp. Speedfan has not been that great lately. (seriously, it is probably looking for a sensor that is not there. It is a common issue)

Speedfan is a screwy program these days. Use CoreTemp, RealTemp, HWMonitor, or Everest to check your temps.

Well, Speedfan's Core temps match Core Temp and OCCT. The GPU temp matches GPU-Z and EVGA Precision. Temp 1 and Temp 2 at idle match the BIOS and I don't care about the HD monitor.

And I agree Temp3 Isn't there...
Lol -128C
