I got some free IC Diamond 7 TIM from the nice people at Innovation Cooling LLC and posted my test results in their thread. But i got some conflicting results. SO in order for me to be able to draw a conclusion, i'll have to do some more tests.

Curing Time: X23- Couple weeks, ICD7- 4 hours w/ 1 hour cool down. Testing: Prime95 1 Hour, HW Monitor for max temps (the correspond exactly with CoreTemp) Cleaning Application: ArctiClean. +++++++++++++++++++++++++ ---------Conclusion------------- +++++++++++++++++++++++++ Shin Etsu is the better TIM from my results. It produces lower idle temps with lower load temps. even though the DeltaTemp for ICD7 is lower. +++++++++++++++++++++++++ -------------------------------- +++++++++++++++++++++++++ |
Testing Procedure
- I will takes pictures of the amount of TIM applied, then after each test, i will take pic of the surface spread of each TIM.
- I will test both with 100% HSF running and with no HSF running, but the exhaust fans will stay the same speed.
- I will let the TIM cure either over night or for 9 hours with prime95 (depends on the day as i have school)
- I will use HWMonitor to record max temps (the readings with it correlate exactly with CoreTemp)
- I will load for 1 hour prior to reading temps for stabilization.
- I will clean with ArctiClean.
- I will conduct this test 5 times.
