Overclocking Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 Penryn

Thread Starter
I'd like to overclock my cpu, but I don't know how to do it. I tried in the Bios, but I can't, I think it's locked by my mainboard manufacturer. I have a Pointer Systems M8227DMP:
Mainboard: Intel Santa Rosa CRB (Intel PM965 Chipset)
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 Penryn (2,10 GHz)
GPU: nVidia Geforce 8600M GS, 512MB
RAM: A-data Technology 4 GB DDR II-6400 (400 MHz)
HDD: Toshiba 250 GB 5400 rpm

So like I said, I already tried the BIOS, that's impossible. I don't know another way to overclock my CPU/RAM. My GPU I already know, that's rivatuner.

Thanks

You cannot overclock most OEM systems. There are some high-end OEM systems that allow BIOS overclocking, but it seems that you don't have one.

There are ways to software overclock, but it is highly recommended to not go that route as you can seriously mess up your motherboard.

Your best bet is to throw that motherboard out and get a new one, as well as a new copy of Windows. The copy of Windows you're running is permanently tied to that motherboard and will not run on a new motherboard, if/when you do so.

Oh man... I thought you were talking about a desktop system. You can't change motherboards on laptops.

My bad man.

so there is no way I can overclock it? I tried clockgen but I don't get the sliders to change clockspeed. I also don't find the right PLL I need to select for my mobo. Do you guys have any idea what it might be or where I might be finding it?
