Good list. Don't konw your budget so I recommend Xig S1283. It stands out in that price range. Use the push bin now and get the bracket later on

I am most concerned about the quality of the build and making sure all the components work together properly what do you think of this heatsink for a few dollars more:

XIGMATEK dark knight - s1283 120mm CPU Cooler

Agreed on the Xig,not sure if the Dark Knight is any better, I read that it's not, but go ahead and get the bolt-thru kit. You'll have to take the board back out if you don't.
You have DDR3 ram listed with a DD2 board. Have not seen good results with the DDR3 version of this board. If you're going with DDR2, G. Skills seem to be working nicely. I'll have all my parts Mon. or Tues., same board, E7400, Patriot 8500 ram only because I got a real good deal on 2 gig and that's all I be using for now.

You listed the EP45-UD3P and DDR3 ram, but that uses DDR2 ram. If you are intending on getting the EP45T-UD3P and DDR3, I would highly recommend you dont. Many people at XS have sent theirs back and picked up the DDR2 board instead. It is to flakey.

Instead I recommend getting the EP45-UD3P and 2x2Gb G.Skill 1100 Pi. They OC fairly well and should get you 1150 with 5-5-5-15 at 1.84v.

one of the other issues is i believe that board can only take 2 slots of ddr3 ram. so if you want to render video you may experience slowdowns discrepancies cmparing 8gig ddr2 vs 4 gig ddr3 of your original intent.

bottom line, with ddr3 ram board your limited with how much ram you put in

Thanks everyone for the feedback.

I decided to go with the i7 920 and the following config:

Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD4P

Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme 1366 RT

SAPPHIRE 100259-1GL Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card

Corsair CMPSU-650TX

OCZ Gold 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

Total cost is only about $200 more than original C2Q build...
