I can play garrys mod for about a hour and then it crashes to desktop saying "hl2.exe has stopped working windows is looking for a solution" This is the only game that crashes. I can play CSS for awhile w/o any issues.

I almost thought it was a unstable OC, so I went back to stock clocks and the same thing happens.

Gets pretty annoying because once I start getting alot of cash or something it crashes.

Any ideas?

Do you think it was some addons that can cause this issue?

Possibly. After installing each addon run the game for a few minutes, and see if you start crashing again. That way you can find the problematic addon.

My computer has an OK spec. I'm running the AMD Phenom II X4 955, 4 GB of 1600 MHz ram, power colour hd 5770 and windows 7 ultimate. Every time I try to connect to a server it hits the 'retrieving server info' and then crashes. I'm not having any overheating problems and running in compatibility mode doesn't help. I have automatic updates on both steam and OS and I let them run. I'm stumped. any suggestions??
