Show off your cables... BEHIND your desk!

I didn't consider this something that belonged in the Official Computer Room Pics thread, since this is only a small part of it... or big, depending on how nit-picky you are. If it does belong there, just move it.

Anyway, I'll get it started; the area around the surge protector really can't be helped since my subwoofer, Jabra headset charger cord, phone charger cord, and 3 game consoles sit on the other side of where the modem's, peripherals', and system's cables all join up. But not tangling my feet in a bedlam of cords is well worth a small rats' nest around the surge protector, believe me.

As a side note, sharp-eyed members may note, and I confirm for them, that the green N64 cartridge is Battletanx: Global Assault. I still love it.

Edit; realized that the foremost vertical running cables obscure mentioned rats' nest. You'll be spared until I decide to post another angle.

Heya,

For years I was always ashamed of my pile of wires. I've really down graded the amount of wires I use and use a lot of wireless devices. But mainly, I figured something completely simple would be a good answer to a pile of mess that otherwise cannot be hidden unless the mess of wires is actually behind a desk that covers the floor and wall from sight. I go pretty minimalist on my furniture (and especially when I just make things for my rigs). So think of a bird house, but for wiring. Add corrugated tubing to conceal the power cords and stuff stringing from the power bar to the HDTV/PC/5.1 rig. And of course, conceal the silly looking Gigabit router and my internet coming in. Everything just slides over in the tubing. I see no lights.

Behold the Wire House!

Very best,

I really like that wire house Gives me an awesome idea.

I'm in a dorm situation at the moment. All the wires are behind my monitors on my desk.

Very best,
I love it. How's the heat inside with the router and that power brick in the lower section?

Ignore the paint over the baseboards, the room was just painted and we plan on painting them white so the overlaying color of the walls doesn't matter, hence why there is drywall particles kinda still on the floor....****s hard to get up lol.
