OK, I got the camera out for a few more pictures. it's late and I just did em really quick. Nothing special. I'm tired and don't wanna get the flash out or anything extreme.

Heres a few teardown & finished pictures.

tearing down the GTX 480

The Core that does all the heavy lifting.

Watching DD's How to Video on the YouTube (Happy Birthday Yesterday YT)

Crap Photo, but sadly only installed shot i took. The Block looks incredible, but the flash shows all the imperfections that usually cannot be seen.

Lone Capacitor (See it)

Weird lighting, but i'll post em anyways, Oh and I've taken out and redone that curved tubing with the Kink.

90 Degree Rotary for easy routing, and I can turn it out while unhooking the Res for drainage. Yes Kink has been fixed!

Last one I Swear!

I know it's a lot of photo's, they are nothing special I just took a few really quick for everyone.

This last photo is just a view of how it looks with all the tubing ran and everything, with the entire system being seen.. (sorry it's a cell phone picture)
Also this was the first 24 hours, Now the entire loop & Res are bubble free and runs like a champ.

gahh i just got my loop up and installed in my P180 and now you make me want this HAF 932!!! question:

How thick is the top of the case (Where the rad/fans are screwed into) ? Im using a 3 inch screw cut down (Going throw a fan + hollowed out fan for a shroud) and the screw leaves me about 1/4 inch of clearance when screwed into the rad/fans, you think that would be enough to go through the top?

EDIT: that 5/8 OD?? Looks tiny compared to my fat 1/2ID 3/4OD tubes

EDIT2: Question #2, does your outlet of your pump go up to your rad?

yup, 7/16 ID over the top of a 1/2 barb makes for a extremely tight and safe seal. the clamps are extra caution. I needed a hair dryer and hot water getting the tubing soft enough to even get over barbs.

and yes my flow goes from Res straight into pump. pump outlet goes up into my RAD and through. I figured the temps with that 480 no matter the flow in the end will become the same. (and they do) but I still get solid temps even while OC and overvolting the 480 to hell.

and the top of the case is really thin. I actually had to custom order screws long enough to go through 2 fans. same thing. a fan and a shroud. they would have been no problem but they were M3 on my Feser. so I needed a long, yet thin screw. it was like $4 dollars at fasten-all. I don't remember the length but I can dig up the thread at XS.

fans are 25mm each, I think the screws are 60mm is what I went with. thats around 2.3 inches. i could be wrong.

Nice and clean man! I love the HAF. I was getting one in a month, but it won't fit in my space, lol. O'well (even the 922 is too big).

Hi,
I'm Larry - your are adventerous (and brave) going from scratch.
I have my Asus Maximus Extreme & have been studying a LOT of post carefully & cautiously.

One series did what i am almost on top of attempting (though they had an actuall
As I mentioned, VERY SLOWLY!! Reworking my Kandalf 1st (new pump, tubing, reservoir with level sensor, extra temperature sensor, 2 readout, configurable alarm panels, etc. etc.

Can't afford to blow the QX9770 --- this one was hard (& pricey) to find.

If anyone remebers (better has links to the other project referenced) I'd love to get a jump start (CPR on ancient laptop "hiding my files" is touch-n-go)
Would immensley appreciate it.

ALSO, if anyone out there has any WARNINGS - GOTTCHAS - SELF DESTRUCT AVOIDANCE advise ... I am all ears.

Gotta run now (early pain time drain tomorrow morning)

Looks good. How come you didn't have both barbs on the top of the video card? You'd have a pretty straight shot to the res that way it seems.

DUDE... I never even thought of that. WTH!

If I put the out barb on top it would be almost a direct shot to the res. Then I wouldn't have that slight flattening of the tube like I have with that wicked angle curving up.. I just assumed enter from above and come out from bottom but the way a waterblock is made it really doesn't matter one bit.

I might have to switch that.. hmmm Thanks!
