It was a top of the line chip a few years ago, so it has some kind of nostalgic value as well. It also doesn't help that people on Ebay tend to ask for insane prices and give outdated information. With those steps, I could probably sell my 1950XTX for $300.

So a 3 yr old CPU that sold for what, like $1000 new you can now sell for $200-300?
The 2 yr old Q6600 was what, $300 when released, and the GO was $260 or so, and still sells used for $150?
I would hope it would be worth more (even though performance is lower)

and yes This is far from news..
Used FX60's are STILL selling for well over $300 on ebay constantly. Its actually pretty amazing how much people are getting for those. You could get a phenomII a mobo and ram for that price.
But the unlocked multiplier is very nice though

The Q6600 has already hit EOL. The ones retailers have right now in inventory are just inventory from Intel's stockpile. As it is, I think the Q6600 has already gone up in price. Just last summer, it was $175 for a Q6600. Now it's at a good $195 and may climb yet.
