HD audio connect to AC97 Front Panel?

Hi all, I just got a FOXCONN A79A-S and the onboard HD audio pinout is as follows:

1 - PORT 1L (Analog Port 1 - left channel (microphone) )
2 - GND (Ground)
3 PORT 1R (Analog Port 1 - right channel (microphone) )
4 PRESENCE (Active low signal for detection etc)
5 PORT 2R (Analog Port 2 - right channel (headphone) )
6 SENSE1-RETURN (Jack detection return for front panel (JACK1) )
7 SENSE_SEND (Jack detection sense line etc)
8 KEY (Connector key)
9 PORT 2L (Analog Port 2 - left channel (headphone) )
10 SENSE2_RETURN (Jack detection return for front panel (JACK2) )

And the wires from the front panel (AC97) are:

MIC-IN Green
MIC-IN Orange
GROUND
L-OUT
R-OUT
L-IN
R-IN

I have searchered and reached the end of the internet and saw many similar threads, but with multiple solutions. Here is one that suggests I plug the wires in these pins.

My wires above are a little different, so I will assume that:

The orange wire is the MIC POWER, and the L+R-IN are RET. Anyone agree?

This looks pretty acurate, but I saw in another thread this statement,
"to use hd audio connect FAUOIO_JD (pin 7) , FSense1 (pin6) and FSense2(pin10) each other manually somehow. now jacks will be detected all the time , even if u havent plugged ur mic or hp.

Has anyone had to do this before? If so, what am I doing wrong? I even tried disabling HD Audio from the BIOS, but that gives me no sound from the rear either.

Hard to get feedback on this, even in 4 other forums. I guess this just does not work?

I think they're different headers, my antec 900 case has options for both...

What do you mean by "headers"? Is it possible that it is not compatible? I could just try to switch some wires around. Will I fry anything if I switch the wrong wires?

there might be an option in your bios to change it from HD audio to AC97 legacy mode.
