Thread Starter
Alrite boys, just wondering if any1 can offer any solutions?? my stock cooler is bloody hard to get off my mobo, i used artic cooling paste (the 2 part stuff) and it seems like glue, i have tried to pull it off till the point my mobo is bending, dont want to be silly and teach it a lesson by ripping it out full force. and yes i HAVE unclipped all 4 cooler clips, Any ideas guys? much appreciated!

i would see if i could slip a razor blade, inbetween the CPU/paste and the Heatsink and kinda break the bond.

It shouldn't be that hard to remove. Try to turn it slightly right and left and see if you're able to loosen it up a bit. Or use something like a razor blade to "cut" it loose.

The two part stuff is thermal epoxy. You essentially just glued the stock cooler to your chip.

im sorry to break it to you, but the 2 part AS is a permant solution for TIM, it will not come off, you will either break the board or the chip or both.

try to pry a razor blade inbetween and see if you can take it off.

also if there is enough room to move the CPU socket arm up and completely, so that you can take the CPU out with the heatsink attached to it and it will be easier to take the cpu off from the heatsink
