Still struggling. Tried pencilling a few components and no voltage boost. Tried soldering trimmers in a couple places and no boost there either. Frustrating! tongue.gif

Now the light is a little better, the controllers are AJ-AA 20P and AP-AA FOW

Hey biggrin.gif Yea, i've been using the same pic as a vague guide. I've tried soldering a trimmer to the closest equivalent point I can find, but it didn't boost vCore.

I'll get a pic up in the morning. Should have done that days ago....

whats on the other side of teh PCB from those controllers?

 

- looks like those are handling 1x phase each for GPUv? ... is there no master IC?

 

*I make out RT IC at bottom of pic.. most likely for mem.

 

 

 Those 'AJ' and AP look like BN controller off of Alpha dog 8800GT

Yea, memory IC is at the bottom biggrin.gif That's modded, but makes no difference. I think memory will scale with vCore

its just a hunch by looking at the design.. but i would say the IC at U507 is the master... and the one at U508 is a slave. One IC for each phase... 

 

*what do you see with DMM at R16, R17 and R122 and R123... any 'good' resistance levels and continuity?

R16: 1KOhm
R122 & R123: 3.15K
R17: 6.15K, but i've already tried using it as a connection point....and got no gain. Tempted to try again though, with a smaller trimmer

R17 connects to pin 7 of U507. Maybe that IS the right point and my soldering was bad.

try to lower R16... from the other mods i have done using these stupid IC's.. GPUv resistance was right at 1k.. VR = 20k
