Here's a pic of the EVGA 9600GT.

Where are your measuring vGPU from on the card?

The only down side is i keep the fan at 75 percent. If i could raise the voltage via bios i could probably break 800 because after 800 on stock volts is starts artifacting.

This post confuses me. Are you saying 1Ghz shader or core clock? 1Ghz core clock will take sub-zero temps. I don't remember what my air OC was, but running +2Ghz shader on water.

I couldn't find my LN2 screenshots, but I think I was ~1060Mhz core and 2350 shader.

FYI, increasing PCI bus with these cards will increase the core/shader freq. 110 PCI bis = 10% OC, even thought GPUz will not read the increase. Benchmarks reflect the increase.

800mhz core (stock volts)

i forgot the exact shared clock but, it is over 1ghz it may even be closer to 2ghz.

With extra voltage i could make it more stable and break 800mhz.

After 800mhz on stock volts you get artifacts, so my thinking is more volts = more mhz.

I'm thinking with such great temps and the given clocks and the fact it is a single slot that it's a pretty decent card/performer.

Those are the leg from the inductors/chokes. I've had some inconsistent results taking my measurement from those. Would you mind probing the legs of the caps above them? BTW, what voltage are you at with that GPU?

These are my current readouts/settings:

Idle:
1.222V on the bottom leg of the chokes (short white wire)
1.216V on the top leg of the chokes
1.216V on the bottom leg of the caps
0V on the top leg of the caps (guess it's ground)

Load:
1.280V on bottom leg of the chokes, fluctuates +/-0.001V
1.26V on top leg of the chokes, fluctuates +/- 0.001V
1.26V on bottom leg of the caps, fluctuates +/- 0.001V
0V on top leg of the caps.

I guess I should take the vGPU from the caps or top of the chokes instead.

That's not to drastic of a different between the chokes and caps. Looks like you're at about your limit for air though.

The differences between the choke voltages are because of the small resistence in the chokes and the fact that current is running through them, which produces a small voltage drop on the output (the top leg of the choke).

Bumping this thread for my glorious Zotac 9600gt Synergy 512MB.

I was able to run this with 750 core and 2000mhz ram without artifact with msi afterburner approximately 60c under load.
Now i am thinking of renewing the thermal glue and vmodding this to get maximum out of my $$ in its last days of it and before i kill the card to upgrade to a new shine dx11 one.

Now i am using it at 730 core and 2000mhz memory via modifying bios. I think the shader must be around 1800.

1- Should i completely revert the bios to default and use software to increase mhz and voltage after vmod? Or can i do it with bios without any software. ( Dont like stuff loading after windows)
2- Can you guys help me how to do it if i take detailed pictures of my card. Because i am totally noob about this. I will obtain a cheap soldering (gun? machine?) and post pictures here.

Thanks, Munky.
