Where are your measuring vGPU from on the card?

I got my xfx9600gt at 800 core and i'm not sure on the shader clock but, it'd definitely over 1ghz on just stock clocks and cooling and the temps are great and to top it off it is a single slot card. This post confuses me. Are you saying 1Ghz shader or core clock? 1Ghz core clock will take sub-zero temps. I don't remember what my air OC was, but running +2Ghz shader on water.

I couldn't find my LN2 screenshots, but I think I was ~1060Mhz core and 2350 shader.
FYI, increasing PCI bus with these cards will increase the core/shader freq. 110 PCI bis = 10% OC, even thought GPUz will not read the increase. Benchmarks reflect the increase.
