I also feel that the "NO MOAR THAN 1.36525v" is too strict, i remember the first week that the wolfdales came out people had them at high voltages killed them in under a week.

But there has to be an in between, better or for worse.

Remember, the E8400 is not QUITE as good as the 8500 (no **** sherlock ^_^). Apparently, 4.5ghz is out for me, or at least it is below 1.4v. My problem seems to be vdroop. It boots at 500x9 fine, and cpu-z shows 1.392v. As soon as I start orthos, it drops to 1.37v and BAM BSOD (hardware has failed, contact system manufacturer).

i understand what lemans is saying
i just can't afford to risk my chip dying
so i stay under my 1.3625, i might go up to like 1.37 for 4.0ghz even tho...
idk if its worth it lol

Even with C0 stepping, you shouldnt need over 1.3625 for 4.0ghz. What is your VID?

not sure, not at home atm
i have horrible vdroop :/
(i think its as much as .08)
i did a pencil mod, but it wont get better than .04
my chip doesnt seem to be that strong of a clocker
takes almost a full 1.3625 for 4.0stable :/
(1.3625 after vdroop not before)

haha my board seems to overvolt by alot, it's vdroop protection isn't that great either

vdroop protection disabled: 1.440v, 1.424v under load
vdroop protection enabled. 1.440v, 1.424v, 1.440, 1.452, 1.446v under load (it just hops around)

i found it was more stable with the vdroop protection disabled
