The most common board for 4 x video cards is the AMD based MSI K9A2 Platinum. You should look into it and check out the equipment the big folders use.

For $700 I'd do this for a folding rig:

4 X 9600GT $360 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127362) or 4 X 9800GT $480 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127406)

Personally, I'd go with the 9600's...each one comes with a copy of Far Cry 2 that can be ebay'ed for 25-30 dollars, reducing the cost of the 4 to the $250 range, an incredible deal.

MSI K9A2 Platinum $150 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130136)

X2 4400+ $40 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103221)

4 Gigs Ram ~$40

PCP&C 750W PSU or Corsair 750W PSU ~$130 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817703019 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139006)

That is just about $700 w/o selling the free games from the 9600's on ebay. Sell those puppies and you'll free up about $100 to get a case and anything else you'll need...should be a beast of a folding rig for a great price!
