FIXED:No Voice Audio DVD Backups

Thread Starter
Hi all, I have all my dvds backed up to my hdd so I dont have to search for disks to watch a movie. Well since I switched from 32bit vista to 64 bit, when I try to play them through kmplayer or media player classic or vlc player, I get no speech audio.

I can here the music and background noises great just no voices. I have tried them using nero showtime, and all works great no problems. I have the klite codec pack and the vista codec pack installed. Any ideas?

EDIT: Turns out my soundcard defaulted to 7.1 as opposed to 2.1 like it did in vista 32bit.

You may have too many codecs installed, or conflicted codecs. You could try installing the latest DivX, or remove some codecs and start from scratch.

Try uninstalling the other media players and installing:
K-Lite Mega Codec Pack:
http://www.codecguide.com/download_mega.htm

or
Vista Codec Pack:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multime...-Package.shtml

Either should sort your problem out.

I have both of the above codec packs installed. I would also like to try to keep kmplayer. I will try uninstalling the codecs I have, and try the vista ones by them selves.

Well I tried uninstalling and reinstalling codecs and media players with no success. I can still only get voice audio through Nero showtime, this is getting rather aggravating. Anymore ideas?

Edit: I also get no voices from my actual dvds played in media center or windows media player.

I'm currently having the same problem you described. It happened after I installed a version of K-Lite. I've uninstalled it and tried installing and uninstalling other packages. I've also spent hours crawling through my installed codecs with various utilities. How did you fix the problem?

I hear background, music, etc., but no voices. This is a problem viewing DVDs with any player (VLC, WMP, Windows Media Center, etc.,). My speakers are a 5.1 setup.

Did anyone find a fix for this?
