Adobe After Effects Importing Problem

I'm using an old trial of After Effects, and have learned through Youtube that this is an amazing program.

My problem is that I everytime I try to import anything, whether it's an .avi, an .mov, jpeg, or even a .psd, the program crashes.

I have every codec available on my production partition including the specific ones for those files.

I can't imagine that importing would be disabled in the trial, just the additional file formats and effects.

Does anyone know what my problem is?

What version is it? It might be that it doesn't like 64-bit.

It's Adobe After Effects CS3. I have it installed in both my 32 and 64 bit OS's, with the same problem in each.

Problem fixed

The trial version of AECS3 is bugged
Full version works fine

It should make no difference... Technically, both versions are the same, minus some components removed for licensing reasons... Anyway, glad it works now for you.

Actually, the trial version is based on AE CS3 8.0.0, so it doesn't contain any bug fixes that are in 8.0.1 and 8.0.2.
That's unfortunate, if true.

EDIT: I wonder if you can install some updates to the trial version?

Thank you very much. I'll have to try the new version or something.

I'll let you know if I figure out how to get a real trial. Not being able to import while testing software with a $1000 price tag is ridiculous.
