Help me choose some SSD's for 2x Raid 0!!! - Page 2

Ya, I've heard of the registry fixes and I'm hoping that running a Win 7 installation will bypass me having to do any of that. I might dual boot in which case I'll have to work with that but hopefully the Win 7 Beta is stable enough to work from.

Here are some of those registry (and services) fixes though they would be for Vista.

Did you happen to catch These in the last email promo from Newegg?

$164.99 - $10 Promo code "EMCLNMX34" - $20 MIR = $135.00

These have been reviewed as solid and very fast SSDs. Personally, I've decided to wait it out for a bit before I get one or two.

I was looking at those too however I think that two (or even 4!) of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820220341 in raid0 would be better.

Also, take a look at this thread, it's a must read.

http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/fo...ad.php?t=43525 It has some of the stuff from the other OCZ thread posted here, plus a bunch more goodies.

I'd go for OCZ Vertex series.

I would go with the G.Skill one based upon specs, but both of those only have 2-year warranties which simply isn't enough considering the cheaper competition has a 5-year warranty and you can make similar speeds from the same amount of money or less in RAID-0.

Intel SSDs have a 3-year warranty, which is acceptable, but they are also much more expensive ($400 for 80GB). I was namely referring to high-performance HDDs, such as Raptors, VelociRaptors, and the Caviar Black modesl from WD. I do not have much experience with Seagate though I am sure they have similarly-performing 7200RPM drives.
