Hey guys i have a ASUS A8V - MX Mobo wit a 939 amd athlon 64 3000+ i recentley purchased a Sata DVD writer and it doesnt work wit my cpu FSB increased. It was at 230 FSB prior to the Sata writer. My 500 GB sata hdd worked fine.Once i rever my FBS to stock (200) my writer works just fine.
What could be the problem ?
Thanks in advance

from what I can tell your board does not support PCI/AGP frequency locking which means your PCI/AGP bus speeds are raising along with the CPU HTT (FSB).the stiock speeds are 33/66MHz and going to far above these speeds causes the bus to be unstable and that is why you DVD writer does work when overclocked

you have to lock the pci and agp frequencies. if you cant then you wont be able to so any farther.
