[TPU] Mobility Radeon HD 4870 X2 Days Away From Clinching Top Spot - Page 6

I get right at 20k with a 4870X2 (slightly OC'ed) and my E8400 at 4.0GHz...

I am deeply saddened.

Also, why does 3dmark06 say it's a Q9300, but CPU-Z says Q9400???
Not shenanigans.

The 4850 Mobility in the MSI GT727 scored around 10k with a similar cpu. My guess is that a higher clocked cpu and a 4870X2 mobility is going to be in the 15k area

But this scored 20k. I don't really believe it either. Of course it is just a benchmark...let's seem some actual games.

I also HIGHLY doubt that OC is stable at all, or keeps within thermal spec. It's a laptop CPU that seems to have desktop like power if you go by that CPU score it gets.

Nvidia has nothing to match this for laptops. Good job AMD. This is one of the first batches of news on OCN that I found to be actually amazing.

Dont turn something awesome from ATI into a negative Nvidia thread please.

This is great and amazing. I don't mean to sound negative here but...why do this?

Desktop replacements, when you're going to be somewhere for longer than a month, and don't want to take your desktop there. Great investment for travelling people who love to play video games. Saves you on having to buy something where you're at, and also missing your favorite video games, and future games that will come out
