Computer A Little Hot

Thread Starter
My temps are way higher than anyone I see posting on here. My temps are 50-51c at idle and get close to 70c at full load.

I'm using an OCZ Vendetta cooler. It's a q9300 oc'd to 3.09ghz @1.256v.

Ensure your CPU HSF is seated properly. I'd recommend getting some Artic Silver 5, placing it in a small line on top of the Processor, and some on the HSF. Reseat, tightly.

Things you need in Thermal Paste:
4.29 W/cmK Silver Ag
4.01 W/cmK Copper Cu

These both ease out to be twice the performance of copper. Artic Silver 5 paste is your best bet.

Those temps are way to high IMHO, have you applied the TIM as shown in this link, HERE.
If do it.
Also I think there are many better TIM's than AS5 out there now.
I use IC Diamond and have found it to be the best of any I have tried, and that is with the same cooler as you.

Thanks for the replies guys. I am using the fan that came with the OCZ. I have it blowing upwards into the fan at the top of the case. Someone told me I needed to turn it around 180 degree's. I didn't use any thermal paste, I think it had a little bit of that white paste on it out of the box so that's it.

I was needing to make a tiger order so I will get that paste at the same time.

As was said above having no TIM is not advisable, and the TIM that comes with the OCZ is terrible it is based on silicone oxide and that oxidises the copper secondly it does not do your cooler justice by helping to reduce CPU temps as far as it can.
The best way to orientate the fan IMHO is as in the pic.
