overclocking tips???

I have an nvidia 650i sli motherboard and a intel core 2 duo 2.4mhz smithfeild processor. i was wondering how to overclock my cpu in the bios and what is the safest parameters for overclocking it. I can get to the overclocking setup in my bios but i dont really know what to set the fsb or anything else?? I dont want to mess the cpu up because of lack of knowledge??? Please help????????

OK First it would help to know all the parts you have. Could you fill in all your system specs here.

To better assist you, we need to know your system specs. You can fill them in just like the rest of us do so it shows up in your signature.

To do this, just do the following:
  1. Click on "User CP" on the black bar at the top.
  2. Click "Edit System" on the left side. If you have more than one system, then click "Add System" afterwards.
  3. Fill it in as thoroughly as you possibly can.
I used to provide a direct link to Edit System like this, but then people would ask me "but how did you get there?". So, now I give these directions instead. That way you will know how to find it each and every time.

So, do you have the E4600, or the E6600? Or, do you have the Q6600 which is the Core2 Quad?
