[TWP] Content Owners Force Hulu To Kneecap Boxee

Boxee, the powerful software package that can convert computers, Apple TVs and other popular products into media centers, has just been kneecapped by major studio content owners. One of the product's most popular features since its implementation last October has been the ability to watch Hulu's entire catalog for free, on your TV. Today, Boxee has announced that Hulu will no longer be supported.

Sucks, I think sites like Hulu are the future of the entertainment industry, and moves like this make it harder to progress.

I absolutely agree.

I do not on any occasion watch television on a real TV.

My only exposure to television is through Hulu, and this is also the only time I see commercials and find out about movies in theaters.

Holding back these sites is a foolish mistake, and I can't fathom why they would do this.

There are commercials during the programs, so money is being made.

things like this are pointless

TV is a linear form of media.. you get to watch whatever the channel has playing

Hulu is TV with control, but only 4 episodes per show and only episodes already aired. I fail to see any harm in allowing consumers, who probably already pay for cable, to play past media on their TV.

I just started using Hulu a little while ago, and it is definitely the future.

Some people are just too stuck on the past ways of doing things and making money.

suck for people who dont have cable or dish, but for me i have no problem, i record every show i like with my dvr, then just skip the commercials, i wish some one would make an automatic mute for commercials. but ye this definitely sucks for people with out cable. some times i feel like theses companies are thinking with their asses!
