Don't get me wrong though, I still like ASUS. Their tech sucks, but then they don't really ask too much questions on RMAing. Maybe because they knew they kept RMAing me some relaly bad motherboard again and again. lol

The phone call to Asus for the RMA landed me with a guy who didn't speak English very well. The guy from EVGA was pretty responsive and intelligent.

The EVGA 9600GT died first so it was replaced with a 8800GTS 320 from the closet for the stepson. Days later my 4870 dies and I'm only left with a 7600GT. I hope this happens quick.

BTW: Killer london broil dinner during my break.

Living in Alaska doesn't help me with computer parts, no free shipping. I always need to go UPS or Fedx. It adds up but mail order is always cheaper even after postage compared to what stores I've got here (CompUSA closed a few months ago leaving BestBuy: retardo-store).

I usually build about 3-4 rigs a year, each costs about 140. for shipping (3-4 day receptions). Could be much worse. Gotta love the Egg.

I believe that eVGA has advantage warranty which you could let them hold on to certain amount of money, when they have received your card, your money will be refunded. So I would say eVGA all the way!!

Never heard of this. Does EVGA sell from their factory-direct?
The step up program is only good if you register a new product right away and they give you 90 days to upgrade for a nominal fee. After 90 days, no dice.

Funny thing here, I didn't register either product until just prior to the RMA.
The EVGA card was already 8 months old and the Asus was about 3-4 months old.
I'm curious to how many people actually register parts when they receive them. I never do.
