Just giving you a copy of something for 50$ is highway robbery.
The bandwidth it takes to get it to you is worth more than a MAYBE 1USD worth of packing materials.
Why do you guys fall back on the fact of having a plastic box with a disk and making it seem like that is the bulk of what you pay for??
/off topic and final post
Seems like you guys keep forgetting that bandwidth is NOT cheap, in fact it probably costs more to get the game to you via DD than to put it on a 25cent disk. Not to mention giving us great online service for FREE and free DL content on all Valve games.
While some of you prefer the disk/brick and mortar method, others prefer for the simplicity of DDs and do not care about a Plastic case with a disk inside and a one page leaflet congratulating you on your purchase. Heck, people like me actually save money on DD because its either I pay 50 bucks online and have it, or I spend 5 bucks on gas to drive into town and pay 50 bucks that way. Either way, we all have our own personal preferences.
