I've done this before with no problems, just make sure you cover the fanholes well. I just used spray paint. With mine I used yellow and black and masked it off to look like you see on high-power equipment.

Take the case apart and paint everything by itself
You don't want to risk getting paint on the main board.

On my PSU, its very easy to take the case off, just a few screws. You should have no prob. Just make sure you hold the power button a few secs to discharge the caps. Don't wanna get shocked now do we?

Even after turning your computer off, your power supply will still retain a large amount of electricity...

Just leave it unplugged for a while before you start working on it - 30 minutes if you're really paranoid.

I just removed the top cover, and put paper over the internals. No need to completely disassemble everything, just cover the sensitive bits. To be honest, the paint probably won't hurt anything in there anyway..

True, but a bricked psu is no fun. And in my experience, if it can happen to my rig and it's bad, if im not REALLY careful, it will.

The PSU is the lowest-tech piece of the system.
Besides the fans and switches, that is..
