Prime 95. Error after 11 hours.

Thread Starter
I've got a problem. I was running prime95 stability test for 10+ hours and than it failed One core stopped, second core continues testing.
What am I supposed to do? Do you think that my rig is stable? Or should I increase vcore? My rig is in sig . Guys, please, tell me that it's normal, or I'll throw my rig ot of the window

Nope sorry. its considered unstable. I'll try to find the post where someone failed 16 hours in.
You can always try another stress test: IntelBurnTest, OCCT, Orthos are all good IMO

edit: I take that back. There's someone who failed 25 hours in

edit again: I'm an idiot. That was Orthos but the principle is the same.

Intel Burn test gets my pick. Its quicker than most stress tests. Less time stress testing = more time overclocking.

OCCT linpack test is stable for 3+ hours. Simple OCCT is stable fo 8+ hours too. You're right. I understand that it's unstable, but if I've stopped the test after 8 hours I would think that my rig is very stable

I love IBT

And that is a really low vcore for the OC. Nice chip. Might want to bump the vcore 1 notch. But how are your temps? Can you bump vcore a tiny tad?

And that is pretty damn stable if it passes all that. Unless you fold or run Orthos 24\\7 you will never know 100% for sure your rig is stable. But 10+ hours plus all the rest of that. I would call that plenty stable unless you fold.

For me, IBT 15 passes with max stress in 64-bit OS is stable for me. (throw in a couple hours of gaming too )

Yeah, I passed 24 hr. of Orthos and Prime. Failed a run of 20 on IBT
Now if I can do 20 passes IBT, I'm stable.

Idle temps are 37-42 (on cores), full load under prime - early 50s. Linpack heats up to 65-70.

Btw, I fold, and no problems with that. Just wonderig, why one core stoppes on a similar test, which it passed 9 hours ago

added: I don't fold 24/7, only at nights, and while I'm not stressing cpu whith prime or occt, or linpack, etc.

It happens. All you can do is bump up voltages or lower you clock and stress again. Using a combination of prime95, Orthos, IBT and OCCT is the way to go.

Will you ever put your system @ 100 percent load for more then 10 hours ? You will only do this for tests, soo who cares if it fails. your rig is doing just fine. gl
