[BigDL]WoW Patch = Mechs

Fans of World of Warcraft have been waiting to see what new content Blizzard has in store for them next. Following the success of the second expansion pack Wrath of the Lich King, Blizzard's European web site for the MMO has revealed info on the first major free content expansion patch, 3.1. Would you believe it will be adding what looks like mechs to the game?

It sure does look like it from the above screenshot. Blizzard states that the new raid dungeon that will be added with the patch, Ulduar, will have players entering " siege vehicles" to take out the army that's defending it. There's even a Voltron reference in the raid's description if you squint hard enough. Blizzard states that this will not be the only new content added for the 3.1 patch, which should start beta testing soon.

I don't play WoW, but new content is always nice, and I'd expect it for $15/month...

Looks like fun though. I'd play if it weren't for the monthly fee.

Would be cool to see Voltron actually in the game.. Would cost 1000 dollars or something.

If it weren't for the monthly fee there is absolutely no way Blizzard could afford the bandwidth or the people to make content as "fast" as they do. The way I see it, $15.00 a month for nearly unlimited entertainment that is always changing and evolving.

Yeah but the PvP in WoW isn't as great as in quite a few other online games, and the PvE, well the PvE is great, but Blizzard has been orienting the game to be designed for casual players by making the PvE way too easier to beat, and as such PvE in WoW gets boring. Been playing WoW since the closed beta, quit it 3 weeks after WotLK release coz we already had beaten all the PvE raid content...

And yeah Exidous you're right, the bandwidth required to host that many servers (after all they did sell over 11.5 mil boxes of the game) and make it so players don't experience a lot of lag costs them a lot.

I agree with you about PvE content being too easy for the proper guilds out there, but blizzard did stated that Ulduar is going to be something very diffrent, I believe alot more people will hit a brick wall while raiding it at start, and less will be possible to complete the hard modes of that raid.

really good job by blizzard bringing great new content only 4-5 months after the expansion was released, seems like the only MMO that will be able to take players out of WoW is the next MMO being developed by blizzard , perhaps two-three years from now.

WoW really wants me to play again.
But I swore, after BC that I would stop. Even thought its tempting.
The User base in WoW sucks, and things are to scheduled.

Uld should be a lot of fun. Our guild is preparing for it now...trying to make sure people are sharpening their play styles. I think that next week, we're easily going to do a three drake Sarth, which is the hardest PvE oriented raid thing at this point (well, that and a six minute Maly...but *shrug*).

I wonder if they are going to get a ton of shiz for the 'mech' thing though like they did for the 'space ship crash' in BC.
