No matter what I did, the highest FPS I could get is 20. Then, I though "why shouldn't I get a new video card as well, together with a new hard drive that I was supposed to get ages ago, and also that new case that I was *****ing about, and didn't I need that new PSU because of all those power ripples, oh I almost forgot that I needed a new motherboard....." and then I finally figured out that I needed a new computer. Right now, I wouldn't get a new graphics card yet.....but it would follow soon after the build is completed. The E8400 could max out GTA IV, so I'm not too worried about getting anything like it. Just so I don't make a new thread, is the Xigmatek AIO-S80DP good? It is a water cooler, so generally speaking, it's supposed to be better, or should I just settle with the V8?
Liked I mentioned earier, you won't go to i7 soon so I assume that 's about 9 months and up. The E8xxx is prefect for this. Xigmatek AIO-S80DP is ok. What other cooler are available at your place?

Seems nice! How's the TRUE Black Edition against the Vendetta 2 anyways?

I would take the Quads... we are slowly coming into the multi-threaded gaming era... As more games are released, more and more will be supporting Quads, and then you will be sad when you dont have one... Currently the E8*00 should be fine for now

On newegg:
e8400 -- $164.99
e8500 -- $187.99
e8600 -- $269.99

The 8400 offers ~18.2 Mhz per dollar spent
The 8500 offers ~16.8 Mhz per dollar spent
The 8600 offers ~12.3 Mhz per dollar spent

So while the e8400 offers the best price/performance, the e8500 is a much better overclocker at only ~15% more cost. Unless you were willing to spend 270 dollars on the best C2D around, I personally would recommend the e8500 for the combination of price and performance. You will easily be able to reach 4.0+ ghz!

that being said, the quads are better at multi-tasking, the dual-core is better at gaming. Buy the e8500

Depends really on the res of screen... Unless you are gaming at 1280*1024, the GPU will be the bottleneck, not the CPU, so pick whichever you want...
