baffled and confused

Thread Starter
Situation: I am still working on this OC over the last week. I have it at 3.82ghz, memory now stable in the upper 1200mhz area (it is 1333ddr3) and it has made it stable in P95 and OCCT in medium and large data sets for 6 hours each. I tried to move my memory one more nudge which put it around 1380 or so and something interesting happens... I set it to do P95 blend before dinner. Before I went to bed, I stepped into my office to see how it was and it was still running fine. I stopped P95 and it had gone for 4 hours and 45 minutes error free. I decided to set it to do a medium data set on OCCT overnight to confirm (or ask for problems). Pressed start, walked across the hall to the bedroom, hopped into bed and just as all was quiet, "Quack quack quack." It made it a stellar 2 minutes and 2 seconds. Irritated I clicked on P95 and set it to run. This morning, it was still running error free. I rebooted, clicked on OCCT and the blanking piece of cheese quacked after 5 minutes. What is up with that?

Well I will admit I am not totally familiar with that software, BUT, my first guess would be to bump the voltage on the ram up a bit more and try that. Go up a few notches, and if it persists turn the voltage ram back down.

Have you verified your memory's stability independently, or are you trying to test both at once? My advice would be to do one overclock at a time, focusing on your CPU. There's no way you'll be able to fully saturate that memory even at your stock speeds. Leave it a lone for a while and see what that CPU can do.
