[INQ]Intel is just running scared says Nvidia - Page 2

Anyone remember last year when Nvidia stated a few times that they were making the CPU obsolete, along with alot of other big headed statements as if they were rulers of the PC world?

Nvidia is burning bridges fast, and if this economy lasts a companies ability to survive and prosper may depend upon partnerships and good will. I would not consider myself an ATI fanboy, but I definitely disaprove of Nvidia and their business practices over the last couple years. Bending console manufactures over backwards, renaming cards and even chipsets, playing puppy dog with their SLI license, ect. I don't really like intel much either and in this case their argument kind of sucks, but I never liked Nvidia's control of the SLI license to begin with. Just one way the green has of keeping their greedy hands in the pot.

I haven't followed Nv's track record to closely but they do have a point. If Intel does not give them the license to create chipsets for their new CPU's, the only ones who can make them would be Intel. Since Intel would be the only one making chipsets for their CPU's, they can make them whatever price they would like. Does not sound like a good situation to me

Yes, but they still wouldn't be able to go crazy because there is still at least AMD who can keep the total build costs in check. Even if AMD can't make Intel compliant boards, Intel still can't be multiple times more expensive then the AMD compliant boards.

Except if prices of Intel platforms go too high, everyone will jump the ship and go AMD.
