I hate it when I get sniped by someone camping, but on the other hand, I can't stand run 'n gun games either. I like the stealth/strategy aspect of a game rather than just running all over the place spraying bullets. It just takes getting sniped or shot by a camper once to find where they are and take them out when you respawn--it's not that hard. Besides, then you can wait there and take them out when they run back to the same place, because let's face it, campers are mostly noobs with no skill.
I'd like to see larger maps that encourage more tactical attacks rather than brute force.
I'd also like to see maps/levels (if we're talking a single-player campaign) where the emphasis on getting through the map/level isn't going through and shooting all of the enemies--maybe make it more open/free-roaming where you could stage things like booby-traps or whatnot, and have more of a planned, independently-thought-up attack as opposed to walking through the level and shooting enemies that approach you. I guess less linear maps is what I mean.
I wouldn't be opposed to vehicles, but the only place I felt vehicles were implemented properly was in BF2. Every other game that tries to implement vehicles seems to fail miserably--Crysis Warhead comes to mind...vehicle implementation in single player were pretty lame if you ask me.
How about a more "modern warfare" experience? I mean, the weapons are upgraded from the previous versions, but the missions are mostly the same as in any gun-oriented game. It would be neat to have some sort of "covert" missions where it's more stealth-oriented where you must accomplish a few difficult stealth-oriented tasks rather than capturing areas. Not through the whole game, but maybe a mission or two as long as it fits into the story line.
I felt the MP classes were slightly unbalanced. More balanced classes please. Last I played COD4 MP, the Close Quarters class was by far one of the most powerful classes as far as the primary weapon goes. I don't know if they've changed that. I know it's less "realistic," but one of my other gripes is how long it took to reload the heavy machine gun classes (can't remember what it was called). Making the reload time shorter on it would be nice. The gun is already disadvantaged because of poor accuracy... Just my opinion.
Get rid of MP bonus attacks like air strikes/helicopters. Those are just stupid. I know it's "modern warfare," but we're talking about a free-for-all multi-player experience.
