i can't get my pc to see all 4 cores.. Motherboard biostar TA790GX 128M.
is there something in the bios i have to turn on?

How are you able to determine that Windows can't see all cores?

EDIT: I missed it at first but if this your sig rig we're talking about you only have a dual-core processor.

Amd athlon x2 6000+ is a dual core, that's why it is called x2? get the picture?
Anyways if it's not the cpu specified in your sig, then update it... or at least tell what kind of cpu you are having problems with

Well I've seen a lot on these forums....

I'd start off with a CMOS reset. At this point, assuming everything is meant to be compatible, I would check and see if there is an updated BIOS that adds support for Phenom II's.

If that doesn't work, check in the Device Manager to see what CPU is listed and how many cores it's reporting. You may have to delete the processors (one listing per core) and restart Windows. I've never experienced this personally but I have seen instances like this.
