E7300 @ 3.4 (8.5x400) -- Opinions

Thread Starter
After much tweaking and testing I have finally reached a stable point with my E7300 OC. I could probably go higher but I don't know if another 200mhz would be worth the extra Voltage and Heat.

What do you guys think of the voltage here, is 1.328 consistent with a 3.4ghz overclock? Also, my VID is 1.2250. I've heard of people having 1.1 VID's being able to overclock further-is that the reason I need more Vcore for a comparable OC then they did?

Also, I am familiar with vdroop.. but I have to have my Vcore set at about 1.385 in BIOS just to achieve 1.328 in CPU-Z (drops to 1.30 under load) - my question is this amount of droop typically average?

I think your looking pretty good. Only when you push it to find its max can you find its highest stable though.

I'd be willing to bet that you can go higher. If your running your ram 1:1 at 800, I think you could easily keep bumping it up little by little to find the max. I'd be very supprised if you couldn't get 420ish out of your ram at 4.4.4.12 timings. Which would equate to 3570

Until you find the max of each component you just won't know the perfect combination of a good stable OC for your setup.

Plus its fun right?

Vdroop usualy depends on the board. My e7200 @ 4.0 takes 1.368 volts to run stable, but my VID is 1.1125. Good luck with the OC and hope this helps.

Nice VID you got there

To the OP, that is a lot volts for a 3.4Ghz OC

My E7300 OC with my Crap ECS board

E7300 @ 3.2
1.178 VCore in BIOS
1.168 100% Load in CPU-Z
