refresh rate t240

Thread Starter
Hey there, i just bought a samsung T240 and i noticed that on DVI mode i cannot change the refresh rate from 60, whereas in VGA mode i can, but if i do it, the screen will be ugly and really really distorted.
Any ideas why this is happening?
thx

incorrect (non-native) resolution? your image could be stretching or re-sizing either through the screen itself or through the drivers. Turn off all scaling and adjust resolutions manually.

Well i am using it at its native resolution, but if i change the refresh rate from 60 to anything higher, it says that at the 1980x1200 it's not advice to use a higher refsesh than 60. So if i change to 75 lets say, the image will be shaking and stuff. So the option to change the refresh rate appears, but if i do change it, the outcome is a bad shaky image. Could it be a faulty monitor? Or i need to install maybe some features that the monitor might have? Thx

You should also set the res to correct value. It means T240 does not like 75Hz @1920x1200. Try lower res at 75Hz and shaking will be gone. 1680x1050 or maybe lower.

Run it at its native resolution and frequency..

My 2333sw runs at 1920x1080 at 60hz which is the optimal..

My monitor runs at 100 brightness, and if i try to lower the brightness, i will get an annoying sound from the monitor. What could this be?

That's the sound of the backlight most likely. If you really can't adjust brightness, than try messing with the contrast. Alternatively you can also turn down the temperatures for RGB in the nvidia control panel or maybe through the monitor's menus and that should make it less bright.

hmm the funny thing is that now after a while, i tried to go and adjust the contrast and the sharpness, but i wasn't able to do it, because it says " NOT AVAILABLE" any ideas why? i didn't do anything , i could modify these values before.

are you referring to the monitor's on board settings or is the nvidia control panel locking you out? Try adjusting from control panel.
