Thread Starter
Hey guys i just picked up some Sennheisers HD555 headphones and have been trying to rip all my cds to 320kps with itunes. It sounds really good but ive heard flac is awesome. Im using the X-Fi Fatal1ty sound card and im listening to it in Audio Creation mode with like 96mhz and bit matched i think. i want to use foobar with the asio foobar plugin to play flac files.

can you tell me the best possible settings for audio craetion mode and foobar and how to enable the asio output in foobar thanks alot

Hmm, as far as I know, I thought Audio Creation Mode is more for musicians so they could record their live playing and mix it with this mixer. I mean, I think there might be a better way to do this. I can't remember any titles, but there are programs out there which are specifically designed to allow people to rip CD audio into MP3's using the bit rate that they want to use and by now, ASIO is probably common.

As far as enabling the ASIO output in foobar, I wish I could answer that. My only solution would be to just look around. I mean, the worst that can happen is you may end up spending a minute or two looking for it.

To enable ASIO in Foobar, I downloaded ASIO4ALLv2 http://www.asio4all.com/ , went into File- playback- output- and set it to ASIO4ALL output. You have the other part right at 98khz and bitmatched from the audio creation mode.

Download the ASIO support dll, http://www.foobar2000.org/?page=Download, and stick it in the Component folder in the Foobar folder in Program Files.

Then in foobar, go to play back > output > ASIO Virtual devices. Click add and, while in Audio Creation mode, there should be Creative ASIO. Select that and edit it for 4ms for the ASIO Latency Buffer. (Not 100% sure on the 4ms, but just bump it up to 5ms or higher if you hear any artifacts/glitching/clipping and etc.)

You can pick between ASIO4ALL (if you downloaded it) or Creative ASIO.

Heres some more info on ASIO and X-Fi cards, http://mtippach.proboards40.com/inde...ay&thread=1140.

If you want to know how to set up ASIO4ALL, read this, http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f46/as...nation-221237/.

instead of 320kbps, why not rip to apple lossless. also, noname has a good guide for x-fi settings.

Audio Creation mode with Bit-matched enabled for me.

Dunno if it sounds better, just what I use.
