im trying to install windows xp pro 64bit on my computer and its good throught to the part right after the cd key then i get an error saying
0x00000024 (0x000000000019033c, 0xfffffadf5aab70, 0xfffffadf5d5aa580, 0xfffff80001052291)

Is your system overclocked at all? It sounds like there could be some instability.

Also, please fill in your system specs. You can actually have them appear in your signature just like everyone else here on Overclock.net. To do so, just do the following:
  1. Click on "User CP" on the black bar at the top.
  2. Click on "Edit System" on the Left side.
  3. Fill in your specs as thoroughly as you can. The more information, the better.
  4. If you have any other systems, then use "Add System" afterwards.

Even if you run stable its better to install while at normal settings.

XP 64bit is picky as is, of all OS's you really need to be stock to install that one

ok i tryed it with some copys i burned and with a the cd its self but i did not set the bord to stock so that could be the problem

Yeah, it's usually best to set everything to stock when installing an operating system. This will ensure that it gets installed without any problems due to an unstable overclock.

If it's a legit copy of Vista 64-bit, then go with that. I keep hearing that, when it comes to performance and speed, Vista 64 bit is far better than XP 64 bit. But I also hear that Vista 32-bit is inferior to XP 32-bit.
