Paint my PS3?

Thread Starter
Well, seeing as my PS3 has a case, I was thinking of painting it.

I originally planned to buy a white PS3 from Japan, but I have no credit card and I'm not waiting a week and a half for my paypal account to take funds out of my bank. So I may buy a used 20GB PS3, upgrade the HDD, and just paint it.

My question is this... Will it be hard for a first time painter? I'll have to take the case apart so I can properly cover the vents while painting. And will I also have to sand the case? I'll be scared when doing that

Don't paint it. Get some laser etching done . Heres a great place in Toronto. http://www.hitechtattoos.com/index.php

Is there a place in T dot that will paint? I know there is a place in the U.S.A, but they don't ship to Canada :'(

You think the paint might interfere with the touch buttons on the front of the ps3?

all you would have yo do is tap the areas off that you dont want paint to go in
sand or use steel wool to scuff the surface. then use primer. then use clor of paint of your choice

Unless you are a professional painter please don't. It will look like crap. The surface won't hold paint well and if you sand it then it will just look rough and won't have the same smoothness and shine it does to begin with.

Paint probably won't interfere with the touch buttons. Not like you need them, but I'll tape them off.

To be honest if this is your first time painting i wouldnt paint it. It takes alot of practice, time and patience to pull off a real nice paint job..get it done professionally if you really want your ps3 painted
