Yeah i linked to one in the original post, but i was not sure if they were fast, quality drives. I still haven't made up my mind but ill probably just buy that 640GB black that everyone raves about.

On the AAKS---> AALS its definitely worth the $5 more in my opinion.

I would agree! I was looking at that one too but I want to RAID 0 and I really don't need that much storage so I'm looking at the aaks 250GB.

Auld, check out this review for the (older) Hitachi 7K500:

The P7K500 has made a few advances since then I'd imagine. To be honest, just bite the bullet and get the 640GB Black. Or you could try the A7K1000 UltraStar range - the 500GB and 750GB versions. And keep away from Seagate...
