How far is too far? (E8400 C0) - Page 3

Never seen the 750i bios. You must be set on the 400mhz strap. Try 533mhz and change the divider to 12:10.

That's very close to the limit of what those chips can do, it might not boot possibly.

With a little practice I'm certain the CO can hit 4g easily at 1.4 or less.
Gotta play with the ram and dividers a little bit.
You never did mention the ram voltages ?
I have a craptastic E8400 as well. Can you say 1.3625v for 3.82Ghz?

I have a e8400 c0

most i've taken it to is 1.688v @ 4.95ghz just for a cpu-z valid, then reset to stock, most i've benched at is 1.488v @ 4.7ghz in 3dmark06

before doing all of the above my cpu would stay stable @ 4.2ghz @ 1.360v, now I can't even get that at all...fails after 3 runs in Intel Burn Test.

my 24/7 is 4.1ghz @ 1.344v (1.39375v in bios)
cpu vtt - 1.42v
northbridge - 1.4v
southbridge - 1.5v
cpu pll - 1.5v

passes 20 Intel Burn Tests, max temp of 72*C. IBT has load temps 10-20*C higher than Prime95, so that is a 24/7 setting for me. Prime95 is like 58-60c max.

So take this info as you will, but @ 1.5v for 24/7, and 1.6v for benching, that thing is going to degrade over time. I had mine running for a month @ those settings then started showing crashes, bsods and I had to re-tune everything for my 4.1ghz setting.

In your bios you said that you haven't touched spp voltage what is the voltage called that you are raising for your NB? My 680i's NB voltage name is NB SPP.

Have you tried running blend test in orthos or large ffts? Does it pass if you have?
Yeah, your SPP (northbridge) is good to go. Have you tried running occt. I would run the small data set using it for 2 hours on custom then run it for 2 hours on the large data set. If it doesn't pass the large data set it has something to do with your memory or board stability.

How much the v-core can be increased is depending on the temperatures. Just increase it one step at a time.
