Dark Knight S1283 with fan and back plate for $40. This new model includes every socket including the new LGA1366 (i7).

Just an informative post, it got $5 cheaper and gained more compatibility.

I am trying to wrap my brain around what the difference is. Slightly cheaper than mine when I bought it, slightly different backplate setup and a longer life fan? Oh, and the Core i7 ready sticker?

EDIT: nevermind..... I guess core i7 support is a plus considering it is cheaper than mine

Only difference is that this one comes with the backplate for both the 775 and 1366 chipsets. So in essence... nothing is different about the cooler. Just the mounting kit it comes with.

I'm at work and still groggy so I really didnt bother to read everything in the OP until after I questioned the difference. I guess for the compatibility at $5 cheaper than the current DK its a really good deal. On a side note I finally got mine setup for push/pull. I wanted to use 2 s-flex's but for some reason on the side with no actual mounting options, an s-flex makes too much noise unless there is about a 1/4 inch gap. Used one of my old 120mm CM fans and some hot glue and it made no noise being glued directly onto the heatsink. temps never go above 60C running 4.41GHz at 1.344v.

LOL you guys bugged those poor office rats at newegg and asked them about their own products? I explained the differences in the OP and i didnt think the $5 cheaper was "deal worthy" but i guess it might be considering the i7 backplate is $10 + shipping alone.
